Can you guess what the changes are? Yes…it is that every thing is in English. -_-. But we are supposed to learn about English jokes right? So that is why I am trying to increase your English skills. ^^ It’s all for you!
Now here is your joke. Please try reading it very slowly.

A+ in Math

Little Tommy was doing very badly in math. His parents had tried everything; tutors, flash cards, special learning centers, in short, everything they could think of. Finally in a last ditch effort, they took Tommy down and enrolled him in the local Catholic School.

After the first day, little Tommy comes home with a very serious look on his face. He doesn't kiss his mother hello. Instead, he goes straight to his room & starts studying. Books & papers are spread out all over the room and little Tommy is hard at work. His mother is amazed. She calls him down to dinner and to her shock, the minute he is done he marches back to his room without a word and in no time he is back hitting the books as hard as before. This goes on for sometime, day after day while the mother tries to understand what made all the difference.

Finally, little Tommy brings home his report card. He quietly lays it on the table and goes up to his room and hits the books. With great trepidation, his mom looks at it and to her surprise, little Tommy got an A in math. She can no longer hold her curiosity. She goes to his room and says: "Son, what was it? Was it the nuns?"

Little Tommy looks at her and shakes his head "No.”

"Well then,” she replies, "was it the books, the discipline, the structure, the uniforms, WHAT was it?”

Little Tommy looks at her and says, "Well, on the first day of school, when I saw that guy nailed to the plus sign, I knew they weren't fooling around.

Finally we looked over all the words. It is good to look words up in the English-English Dictionary. ^^ Now for easy understanding I will try to explain this joke in easy English.

Summery

There was a kid who is bad in Math. His parents had tried every way to make him to do well in Math. However nothing worked. So, the parents had put him into one of those strict church schools.

After a few days, the kid was studying so hard. He wouldn’t chat or play. Only studying everyday!! After some time has past, the son brought back a record of his Math score. Amazingly it was an A!! The parents were so surprised, and asked their son how this happened. The son said when eh went to church he saw a guy with his hand nailed to the wall. (This means that the son had seen Jesus on the wall. Do you get it? How in churches, Jesus is nailed on a cross.) And he thought that if he didn’t study hard, he will be nailed to the cross too!!

So this is the summery of the joke. Did you like the joke this month? I know it is pretty hard for you to understand the whole text in English. But try to understand word by word, then sentence by sentence, and you will understand. Have fun with the joke, and I’ll see you next month!! It was Hanbi with you all the time. And as all the Koreans say…  IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING!!
